So, where are we going?

Basically we’re off to Spain and France.  We’ll begin near Alicante, travel up the east cost of Spain via Valencia and Barcelona and into France.  We’ll be travelling through Carcassonne and up to the Taize Community for a week, under canvas!!  Then down to Lourdes across the Pyrenees back into Spain, part of the Camino Santiago de Compostela, taking in Pamplona and Burgos, down through Avila, Madrid, Toledo and back to our starting point near Alicante.

We will be taking in monasteries, cathedrals, churches trying to discover what makes a place ‘holy’.  Is it the building, the setting, the architecture, a sense of presence of God?  What makes a place holy?  It’s history, tradition, mystery, or that awesome feeling we all get in some place or other, or is it something very personal where each individual gets that sense of being somewhere special.  We hope to find out.
