As our time in Spain draws to a close tonight we saw yet another wonderful sunset. The sun falling behind the mountains and buildings. And as this day ended I started to think of the time we’ve had away, the travel, the sights, the experiences of the last 2 and a half months. I am of course so grateful that we can experience these things, but as with a lot of good things it must come to an end. We travel back home early next week. Back to a different routine that we left, back to new beginnings in the lives of some family members, one just starting life, two starting school in September. One of the two starting school has her Pre-school ‘graduation’ this week (what!) to mark the end of her time in that setting.

I suspect we can all mark throughout our lives times of beginnings and endings and changes. Life does not stand still.

In Ecclesiastes (3:1-8) in the Bible we are told that in life there is a time for everything. It says:

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and a time to give up,

a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,

a time for war and a time for peace.

Do I agree with all of those statements, maybe not, but whatever or wherever your ‘time’ is at at this present moment, I pray that you will find peace in whatever life stage you are at at this moment and find grace, comfort and strength.
