Laughter

The Bible doesn’t have many outbursts of laughter, though I do wonder if this wasn’t just a case of it not being recorded. But surely it happened. Both Abraham and Sarah laughed when told they would become parents at the age of 100 and 90! Well you would wouldn’t you.

Proverbs says that ‘laughter is like taking a good medicine’. Im not sure of this analogy. Is there such a thing as good medicine. However laughter is always good.

Earlier this week we had a great time with some good friends. During our conversation we laughed whilst eating and then we played a game of Articulate. We’d never played it but boy oh boy did we laugh. I admit I had tears rolling down my face at one point. I haven’t laughed like this for……….a long time and it was good, more than good, fantastic.

Life and all its ups and downs can make it so difficult to laugh, but go and seek something, someone, some place that makes you laugh. Enjoy that moment and then give thanks that you can still do it.
