Royal Palace or Holy site?

El Puig (or just Puig) Monastery is built on a site where King James I of Spain saw a vision of a virgin, who gave him then confidence to conquer Valencia, which at the time had Jewish, Christian and Muslim people all living in harmony and making the region very rich.

He did not change the Status Quo and, even though a Christian himself, allowed the communities of faith to continue in harmony. Only later did the Crusades stop this.

Should this be a lesson for our pluralistic society today?

Hope to visit tomorrow, but today is into Valencia and to the cathedrals of The Holy Chalice and the Church of St Catalina.

Women have such a ministry and play an amazing part in faith stories.
